Yellow-Rumped Warbler

These are one of the most common warblers in South Florida during the winter, second only to the oh-so-common Palm Warbler. The biggest difference between seeing the two, is that I’ve not had luck finding them in residential areas. Palm Warblers are common back yard visitors, while Yellow-Rumped Warblers generally stick to natural areas and local parks. They also prefer to stay higher in the trees than Palm Warblers do. They are quite colorful and are often not shy, making them easy to photograph in comparison to some of South Florida’s other small birds.
