Common Nighthawk

These birds are active in South Florida between late spring and early summer as they nest in open grasslands throughout the area. These birds are incredibly acrobatic fliers and can be seen flying during the day at any time between dawn and dusk. In fact, the bird’s name is curious becuase they’re not active exclusively at night, and they’re not hawks.
